The original “root beer” was sold as a syrup for consumers to water down into a type of cordial. It was both sweet and bitter, probably not unlike cough syrup today! The “root” in the name came from its main ingredient, the sassafras root and the "beer" came about as someone changed the original name "tea" to "beer" to make it sound more appealing, even though there's no beer in it.

We can't accurately describe our root beer, so hoping you'll write in and let us know how best to describe it to those that haven't tried it as yet!

This root beer does taste good, especially chilled from the fridge. However, I didn't pay enough attention when I bought it because I typed sugar free root beer in the search engine and this root beer is caffeine free and has sugar.

It's the real Real Thing

Perfect! Taste and texture is exactly right. How wonderful to see USA style root beer made by a British company and sold here in the UK. It tastes just like the big brands I know from America. I'm pleased it's not got any artificial sweetener in it, just good old fashioned sugar the way it should be.
