Cassava Flour

Cassava Flour

Regular price £3.49 Sale price

Cassava is Africa’s most versatile staple. In Africa, a wide variety of cassava-based dishes are consumed. Even the waste gotten from cassava processing can be recycled into animal feed, glue, and ingredients for pharmaceuticals. Cassava is a woody shrub that is mainly cultivated for its edible starchy root. A native to South America, cassava was introduced to Africa in the 16th Century by Portuguese traders. Since then cassava has grown to become a staple food for most African countries. Apart from its versatility, cassava is relatively easy to grow. It thrives on poor soils with low rainfall. It is also a perennial crop with a wide harvesting window. Its non-seasonal nature makes it a resourceful crop to cultivate. Currently, Nigeria remains the largest producer of cassava. So what makes cassava versatile? The reason is obvious. Unlike other staple foods, there are lots of cassava-based dishes eaten in Africa.

Tropical Sun Cassava flour is made from freshly harvested Cassava tubers(roots). The fresh roots are then washed, peeled, grated, and blended into a paste-like consistency where it is then filtered, dried, and sifted into flour.

Our Cassava flour is all-natural with NO additives, or chemicals used throughout the production process.

very Sandy and terrible smell

Hello Team, I want to report one of your products, CASSAVA FLOUR, code 103243 size 3kg. We have bought this same product before and we did not see any issue. We have alot of your products, maize flour, plantain chips etc just to mention afew but this cassava is very bad.

First of all it has alot of stones, not visible stones but by looking at it you can see small black particles. We cooked it and two people confirmed it has stones. I went ahead and tested it raw not swallowing to make sure I prove what I am thinking and it is full of stones when you chew it. It smells very bad though not a big issue but the stones are too much. I want you to cross check this product again before people have issues with stomachs having stones leading to some surgery i hear of removing stones, plus i need to return it for refund i am so disappointed

Tastes gritty and sandy.

First time buying this, not sure if it’s just this batch but it has sand inside. Is it meant to be gritty and sandy inside? I’m so confused, scared to open or eat the semovita. This is isn’t how other cassava flours are.
